Beam Couplings are available in 1, 3 and 6 beam versions. A combination of the number of beams and material give higher parallel offset compensation with useable torque. These are spirally cut from 303 Stainless Steel, Aluminum or Acetal materials. The stainless units have highest torque while the aluminum versions give good torque with lighter weight.

     All beam couplings due to their circular spiral cut (competitors versions included) have wind up if used near their torque rating in reversing applications. Due to this fact beam couplings are a secondary choice in encoder or reversing applications. Bellows or Step-Beam™ Couplings are a better choice.
